Salary: £32,700 – £49,100 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus

Working Pattern: Fixed Term, 18 months | Full Time, 37 hours | Flexible working patterns available

Our SSE Finance function has a key part to play in fulfilling SSE’s obligations as a UK-listed company, providing expertise and services that can be shared across the SSE Group, and working in partnership with all businesses to provide services tailored to their specific needs. What is the Role?

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our Business Energy Finance team based in Perth for a fixed term period of 18 months

Working within a dynamic finance team supporting Business Energy within the Customers segment of SSE, you will report to the Head of Finance for Business Energy. You will be responsible for the review of comprehensive general accounting and period closing activities, P&L preparation, Balance Sheet reconciliations, management reporting, statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, project work, continued compliance and continuous improvement for Business Energy.

What do I need?

To be successful in applying for this role, you should ideally have experience of working in a similar role and be a fully qualified accountant with experience in an operational finance role. You should have excellent knowledge of current regulations including IFRS / new UK GAAP, Companies Acts, Regulatory Licences etc.. You should have a good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures. You should be proficient in the use of MS Office, in particular Excel and have an in depth knowledge of ERP software (Oracle desirable). You should also have an operational and commercial focus.
