Job Duties :

• Perform construction-engineering services for concrete, earthwork, asphalt and utility construction for municipalities, DOT, and private sector clients.
• Inspect and on construction work in progress, such as concrete pours, pipe replacements, and rebar placement.
• Sample and inspect construction materials.
• Calculate formulas, plot data and draw simple curves / graphs.
• Assist with soil and materials investigations.
• Verify all job site tests / observations, including quality assurance, quality control, and verifications are performed in accordance with the standard test / observation methods, project specifications and other contract documents.
• Perform lab tests and observation of soils, concrete and asphalt.

Job Requirements :

• Prefer candidates with Certifications in Soil Testing (VDOT Soil) and / or Concrete Testing (VDOT Concrete, WACEL Concrete or ACI Concrete I)
• Prefer candidates with an Associate Degree with 2 years of additional related work experience or Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in related field.
• Prefer candidates with two to three years of experience with highway construction / field work
• Must have ability to perform testing, engineering, construction field testing, and lab ing
• Must have a strong aptitude for technical work, attention to detail, and ability to work hands on
