Uses online eligibility verification tools (i.e. Advises patient of financial responsibilities when scheduling appointments. Answering incoming calls and forwards the calls to appropriate staff. Communicates with front desk staff regarding changes in Providers schedules (add-ons, cancellations, reschedules) for that current day. Ability to work with staff and multiple Providers requests simultaneously. Creates telephone tasks in eChart and routes to appropriate staff or Provider. Mails letters to patients unable to contact by telephone regarding their appointments. Sort, scan, and file a variety of medical records and information into electronic patient chart in appropriate sections, as needed. 1-2 years’ experience in a medical office setting. ~ Knowledge of computer scheduling and EMR systems. ~ Excellent oral, written, organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and deal effectively with staff, physicians, patients and outside facilities. ~ Must type efficiently and accurately utilizing a computer keyboard. ~ Must demonstrate good judgment in regard to confidentiality policy.
