POSITION DETAILS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Quoting, coordination, and management of all inbound / outbound shipments
• Work closely with internal departments and domestic and international carriers (ground, ocean, air, and rail) to facilitate and track the movement products and packages to ensure that they reach predetermined destinations within deadlines.
• Manage orders, shipment, delivery from overseas suppliers (Ocean Freight), to the hands of our customers nationwide
• Manage freight damage and file claims and follow up
• Work closely with carriers and 3rd party logistics partners to enhance logistics productivity and efficiency.
• Negotiation of carrier rates and contracts.
• Maximize fleet efficiencies through proper planning and execution
• Insure all assigned drivers are dispatched daily with correct loads making any adjustments necessary to ensure customer requirements are met
• Collaboratively work with Trucking team to ensure focus on improving backhaul
• Maintain transportation and distribution procedures to ensure efficiency and select appropriate methods to minimize costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate, manage, and support all internal ing requirements
• Ensure strict compliance of all local, state and federal regulations such as weight restrictions, permits, hazardous materials, and hours of service
• Responsible for compliance and knowledge with Federal Department of Transportation regulations and other safety standards
• Work with Fleet manager to coordinate repairs and routine maintenance of trucks and trailers
• Analyze and adjust routes to ensure proper coverage for existing / new customers and seasonal demand
• Maintain on-time deliveries and lead communication efforts to identify and address transportation and service issues
• Updates various databases (specifically ERP, Product and Partner databases).
• Looks for, suggest, and implement ideas for cost savings and process improvements related to transportation, packaging, and supply chain operations.
• Analyzing and optimizing logistical procedures
• Supporting business development activities by gathering relevant information, preparing presentations

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

2+ years’ experience in logistics and / or transportation

PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

College degree or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1-3 years of experience in a logistics or related field

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

General understanding of freight forwarding-related companies (import / export, FCL, LCL, air freight, etc.)

• Basic knowledge of industrial international logistics concepts and main transport modalities
• Familiarization with current software packages such as Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Computer applications systems experience using TMS systems desired
• Excellent customer service, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong verbal & written communication skills with the ability to communicate detailed analytical information in an appropriate manner through all levels of the organization
• Strong initiative and leadership, ability to work with minimal direction, and build strategic work relationships cross-functional with various departments
• Strong organizational skills that drive prioritizing and multi-tasking to meet deadlines
