Q-Cells Hiring for Logistics Specialist at Cartersville, GA, United States Full Time

SUMMARY

The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for transportation tasks at the Cartersville Plant. Procurement and drayage transportation operation is responsible for supervising the raw material shipping operations to achieve excellence in executing and controlling the assigned international forwarder (NVOCC) and container transportation company.

Inbound shipping monitors all raw material shipments from South Korea and China to the Hanwha Q CELLS Cartersville plant, ensures service and cost meet the targets, and defines and implements improvement projects.

Drayage transportation operation is responsible for the management of all raw material transportation from the import port (Savannah, LA) to Hanwha Q CELLS Cartersville, Cartersville plant warehouse and searching good trucking company and doing the bidding for selection company and cost reduction and defending irregular cost such as demurrage, detention.

This individual will organize, control, and monitor logistics activities of assigned solar panel raw materials : Glass, Frame (Aluminum, Steel), Junction Box, Wire / Busbar, Silicone (Sealant, Potting), EVA / EPE / POE Sheet, Back sheet, Flux and Cell, Ingot, wafer raw materials, etc.

The individual will work in a cross-functional team environment within entities of Hanwha Q CELLS, as well as other subsidiaries of Hanwha Group.

In 2024, this position will be relocated to Cartersville, GA. The current office in Atlanta, GA, is temporary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and track in-transit raw material inventory from overseas to factory arrival.
• Track, operate, and monitor raw materials shipped domestically and internationally in different transportation modes (truck, rail, sea, air).
• Operate and analyze route diversification by considering lead time for required materials.
• Processing all import transport orders and daily transport planning.
• Creating shipping s(or checking accuracy from LSP)and sharing
• Monitoring and managing raw material procurement and shipment from origin.
• Daily check and manage vessel space operation for on-time shipment.
• Searching for a suitable LSP(Logistics service provider) and Bidding frequently to reduce cost.
• If necessary, proceed with emergency raw material and new route shipping bidding for freight rate comparison / analysis.
• Conduct weekly stock counting and promote usage within shell life.
• Prevent irregular costs by continuously monitoring CY’s free time (Demurrage / Detention).
• Monitor and operate import and export customs clearance with customs broker.
• Create transportation-related s and present them to supervisors.
• Attend weekly and monthly meetings with prepared s.
• Establish Logistics strategy and operation plan (Short term / Long term)
• Establish Logistics cost reduction plan and execution management.
• Constant communication with forwarders and truck carriers.
• Set transportation-related KPIs and track performances monthly.
• Frequently communicate with internal stakeholders regarding logistics topics.
• Support and engage actively with teammates’ related work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, SCM, Business Management or related fields
• 1-3 years of logistics and transportation-related experience
• Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, and customs
• Ability to travel overseas and domestically
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, professional team environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately and support project schedules and other deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in manufacturing industries, especially in renewable energy
• Proficiency in Korean and English, both spoken and written
• Excellent computer literacy with advanced knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc
• CPIM, CSCP
• Strong knowledge of SCM and logistics
• Experience in high-volume and multi-site distribution with a solid understanding of FMS, TMS / EPR systems are highly desired
