How You Will Contribute The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, identifying, screening and hiring candidates for various roles within the museum and will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for the organization.
They will be a key partner with hiring managers and department heads to help develop and execute strategies to source, engage, and hire the best talent in a highly competitive market.
The ideal candidate will work as a strategic talent advisor to hiring teams and provide expertise on how to effectively source high-quality candidates and how to incorporate interview best practices and structure into the process.
Specifically, you will : Manage full cycle recruiting processes for positions from initial outreach to onboarding (sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, pipeline management, offers, etc.
Create and implement end-to-end hiring processes to ensure a positive experience for candidates Collaborate with hiring managers to assess and identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions Develop and implement creative recruitment strategies and policies to attract talent in a manner that supports the museum’s inclusive hiring initiatives Analyze the museum’s hiring and talent needs to anticipate hiring Build relationships with applicants and past employees Research talent acquisition trends to improve the process Source applicants through online channels and professional networks Work with HR management to develop, implement, and lead internal employee training programs related to recruitment practices and inclusive hiring Attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline Assist with the interview process and help with preparing interview questions and other hiring and selection materials Post open positions on various channels May conduct market research and analyze compensation data Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies May participate in internal museum committees Participate and assist in the day-to-day activities of the HR department as needed Perform other related duties as assigned.
Your background and experience include : 3-5 years of experience recruiting in multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for nonexempt, exempt and leadership positions Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Experience in all areas of sourcing such as the internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings, as well as conducting open houses and virtual job fairs Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish credibility and rapport with employees of all levels Strong customer service orientation Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict-resolution skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the museum’s HRIS.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred SHRM certification preferred. Experience working in a union environment preferred.

Able to set priorities, manage time effectively, delegate where needed, and complete multiple assignments on time with a high attention to detail Ability to maintain confidential information, be professional and tactful in all situations Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently Ability to incorporate creative approaches to projects by taking initiative and working independently with minimal training and guidance Must be able to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
Position and Compensation Details The minimum salary for this position is $60,000. This position is full-time, exempt, and 35 hours per week.
This position s to Manager, People and Culture. Physical requirements : Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus Able to move items up to 10 pounds COVID-19 vaccination required.
