Theragenics Corporation Hiring for Shipping Lead at Buford, GA Full Time

The Shipping Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management of the shipping operation. Supervise employees responsible for coordinating all shipments, including the shipping of radioactive materials, non-dangerous good, in addition to the meeting the regulatory requirements for the correct documentation for both domestic and international shipments. Ensure compliance with all company, federal, state, local and country regulations which include FDA, OSHA, NRC, GDNR and ISO.

Eessential Duties And Responsibilities

• Work closely with Theragenics customer service and production departments and with customers, distributors, and transportation partners to establish and ensure best solutions are in place to meet worldwide customer requirements
• Ensure compliance with all domestic and international requirements for shipping of radioactive materials and other non-dangerous goods.
• Resolve all shipping issues to ensure high levels of customer service and develop proactive shipping solutions when needed.
• Monitor the performance of all logistics suppliers to ensure company objectives and customer requirements are met.
• Monitor customer orders to ensure adherence to schedule and provide timely updates as appropriate
• Provide information and guidance on shipping rules/regulations and delivery alternatives
• Prioritize and assign shipping jobs to meet production, quality, safety, profit, daily shipping and sales goals and requirements most efficiently.
• Assist employees in shipping activities as required.
• Implement continuous improvement projects and cost reduction opportunities.
• Develop team leaders and shipping employees by mentoring, training, and leading by example. Conduct and document performance appraisals.
• Ensure employees are trained by up-to-date SOPs and training records are kept up to date and accurately reflect appropriate training syllabus.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Pposition Requirements

EDUCATION:

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 2-3 years related manufacturing shipping experience in a leadership role.
• Experience with international shipping.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Demonstrated planning, organizational, and analytical skills
• Proven ability to set and manage priorities based on customer requirements
• Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with other departments
• Knowledge of import/export requirements and practices for dangerous goods
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of FAA regulations
• Basic understanding of shipment of Dangerous Goods
• Experience shipping dangerous goods outside of the USA is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
