ProRec Resource Solutions Hiring for Logistics Dispatcher at Lebanon, PA, United States Full Time

Purpose :

The Logistics Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling trucks and trucking routes in support of our hardwood manufacturing operations located in Lebanon, PA.

They will work closely with log buyers, forestry department, suppliers, and fleet maintenance teams to ensure efficient use of company trucks and trailers.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities :

• Route all trucks
• Generates Daily Driver Schedule – Schedules staff to meet workload requirements and reviews schedules to ensure adequate coverage is in place
• Maintains Vacation Schedule for Transportation Department
• Utilizes the GPS system
• Works closely with Fleet maintenance to ensure vehicles are ready to run to support operational needs
• Handles inquiries regarding pickups, deliveries and ETAs.
• Conducts ride along’s with drivers and provides s.
• Checks returning drivers / conducts driver audits. Monitors driver logs. Makes sure driver training is completed and recorded
• Works closely with the operations to ensure department is running in a professional and efficient manner.
• Provides Route Analysis, tweaks to create efficient routes
• May be called upon to operate trucks if scheduling needs dictate
• Communicates with log buyers and Forestry department to ensure loading of routes and deadlines are met
• Proactive in recommending changes to methods or procedures in order to improve efficiency and timeliness of operation.
• Assist in monitoring schedules, breaks, lunches, attendance and timeliness of personnel and take action when issues arise and seeking counsel when necessary from appropriate managers.
• Ensure Company policies are being followed.
• Other duties, including operational as assigned.
• Communicating informed risks within the business to key stakeholders

Required Skills and Experience :

• Dispatching : 1 year (Preferred)
• US work authorization (Required)
• CDL A (Preferred)
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Experience using PC, Database and Mainframe applications
• Proactive problem-solving ability
• Highly motivated and organized
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Team environment
• Keen attention to the details
• Ability to consult, facilitate and interact across functional areas and with all organizational levels
