About The Role
The Communications and Publications Manager is a critical role within the Faculty’s Strategy, Planning and Resources team, is embedded within the Melbourne Institute department and is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the Institute’s publications and engagement strategy.
This role works closely with the Department Services Manager, Institute Director, Researchers, Melbourne Institute Professional Staff, and the Faculty of Business and Economics’ / University of Melbourne Communications and Marketing teams to raise awareness of the Melbourne Institute’s activities with a view to enhance its public profile.

You should demonstrate experience and skills in technical writing and editing to formulate and implement effective communication/publication strategies for diverse audiences. Proven ability to use various communication channels, especially digital media and technologies, is essential for engaging customers and stakeholders in innovative initiatives. High-level problem-solving skills are crucial for exercising judgment and initiative in ambiguous environments. Excellent communication skills are necessary for building networks and engaging with relevant stakeholders, including members of the news media. Additionally, highly developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills are required to liaise and work effectively with individuals across all organizational levels.
