Logistics – Spotter Position

The Spotter driver supports docking and moving containers and trailers in order to support production and warehouse management.

The driver communicates and cooperates with trucking and warehousing members for materials to be unloaded properly. Spotter will also operate a fork truck and other warehouse equipment to support all duties as assigned by manager.

Essential Job Functions :

• Ability to drive a Yard Dog safely with containers and trailers to park them to the docks properly.
• Ability to support warehousing and production demands to meet 100% on time docking.
• Ability to work and cooperate with trucking and container related people.
• Accurately follows and performs all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for position.
• Understands importance of maintaining quality and safety standards at all times.
• Understands inventory control and JIT (Just in Time) and JIS (Just in sequence) concepts and apply the concept into the process of docking containers and trailers.
• Demonstrates an active understanding of processes, procedures, standards and methods in yard and docks.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job demands, customer shipments, etc.
• Works well with others and promotes a positive team-orientated work environment.
• Ability to operate a fork truck and other warehouse equipment needed to support other logistics functions as assigned by manager.
• Adheres to Essity’s policies and procedures.
• Complies with all Certification standards; Management System (IATF 16949), Environmental ISO 14001 and Health and Safety OHSAS 45001 policies and procedures.
• Performs additional assignments / duties as required by management.
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
• Complies with a 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean work environment and equipment.
• Communicates to other team members as required.
• Promotes Department goals by supporting department objectives towards continuous improvement.

Education :

• High School / GED
• Valid driver’s license

Physical Demands :

Standing : (Frequent) Shipping & Receiving must be able to stand to complete various duties associated with essential job functions.

Walking : (Occasional) Shipping & Receiving must be able to walk to complete various duties associated with essential job functions.

Sitting : (Constant) Shipping & Receiving must be able to sit to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as fork-truck operations.

Lifting : (Frequent) Shipping & Receiving is required to lift rolls of poly weighing up to 35 pounds from 12-inch level to cart surface height up 48 inches.

Receiving is also required to lift and lower empty propane fuel tanks weighing up to 40 pounds from a height up to 48 inches to ground level.

Carrying : (Occasional) Shipping & Receiving is required to complete front or side carry of various raw materials weighing up to 35 pounds for distances of up to 5 feet.

Pushing / Pulling : (Frequent) Shipping & Receiving must be able to generate push and pull forces of ? 50 pounds to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operate hand controls on truck, push / pull carts of product or use of manipulator.

Manipulating / Handling / Gripping : (Frequent) Shipping & Receiving is required to grip, pinch and manipulate various pieces of equipment utilized for the performance of essential job functions.

A grip force of 50 pounds is necessary for the completion of essential job functions.

Climbing : (Occasional) Shipping & Receiving must be able to climb steps and ladders to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as getting on / off fork-truck utilizing steps varying from 7-20 inches in height.
