Position Overview
This entry-level role involves managing release of information (ROI), particularly medical record requests, ensuring accuracy and delivering superior customer service promptly. Upholding patient privacy rights, adhering to regulations, and maintaining confidentiality are integral aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Process requests for patient health information adhering to company and facility policies.
Ensure utmost confidentiality and security of privileged information.
Maintain proficiency in company and facility software.
Adhere to codes of conduct, policies, and notify management of operational challenges.
Manage patient health records with strict compliance to HIPAA standards.
Create and organize patient charts using paper or electronic sources.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records and their proper storage.
Respond to requests for patient records, both internally and externally.
Handle inbound/outbound calls and provide administrative support when necessary.
Meet productivity expectations and assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to commute between locations occasionally.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
Experience in a healthcare setting.
Previous production or metric-based work experience.
Customer service experience, preferably in-person.
Capability to build relationships with clients and customers.
Comfortable proposing process improvements and providing feedback.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Work primarily occurs in an office environment with minimal exposure to unpleasant conditions. The role may involve standing, sitting, reaching, and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs.). Ability to use office equipment and work at a computer terminal for extended periods is required. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities. Low to no travel is expected.
