We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Engineering Department Manager to join our fast-paced Engineering team.

The successful candidate will oversee our company’s engineering department, taking charge of the planning, directing, and coordinating activities in architectural and engineering companies.

This role will also involve managing engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, coupled with exceptional managerial skills and a proven track record in business development.

Responsibilities :

1. Oversee the engineering department’s daily operations, ensuring all projects are executed as per the company’s standards and within the set timelines.

2. Develop and implement engineering strategies, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the department.

3. Coordinate with other department heads to align the engineering department’s goals with the overall company objectives.

4. Lead the planning, budgeting, and direction of all engineering projects.

5. Ensure quality assurance and quality control measures are implemented and adhered to in all engineering processes.

6. Foster an innovative environment within the department, encouraging the development and implementation of new engineering techniques and technologies.

7. Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff, ensuring a high-performance team.

8. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to the team members.

9. Drive business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for the company.

10. Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, advancements, and competitor activities.

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role within the engineering industry.

3. Demonstrable experience overseeing large engineering projects.

4. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.

5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.

6. Proven track record in business development within the engineering sector.

7. Proficiency in quality assurance and quality control processes.

8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

9. Strong decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.

10. Proficiency in using engineering software and other relevant computer applications.

11. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

12. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
