Duties & Responsibilities

Project Leadership : Lead the planning, execution, and management of distribution engineering projects for electric cooperatives, municipalities, and utilities.

Ensure alignment with client expectations, budget constraints, and industry standards.

• Team Building : Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of designers and engineers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Client Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with electric cooperatives, municipalities, and utilities, understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
• Technical Expertise : Utilize your in-depth knowledge of distribution systems, equipment, and industry practices to guide the team in developing optimized designs and solutions.
• Design Optimization : Review and enhance distribution system designs, incorporating best practices, efficiency improvements, and technological advancements.
• Project Coordination : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement teams, and construction personnel, to ensure smooth integration of distribution engineering efforts within larger projects.
• Quality Assurance : Implement quality control measures to ensure accurate designs, technical documentation, and adherence to industry codes and regulations.
• Risk Management : Identify and mitigate potential risks in distribution projects, ensuring timely resolutions to minimize project delays or cost overruns.
• Technical Leadership : Provide technical direction, expertise, and guidance to the distribution engineering team, fostering continuous learning and professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in distribution engineering, with a focus on serving electric cooperatives, municipalities, and utilities.
• Strong knowledge of distribution system design, equipment specifications, and industry standards relevant to electric cooperatives, municipalities, and utilities.
• Proven track record of managing complex distribution projects or programs and achieving successful outcomes.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software tools and applications.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for client meetings and project site visits.
