The Personnel department supports Daktronics employees worldwide, with a mission to enable Daktronics success through people, for long-term mutual prosperity.

The individual who fills this position will be part of the HR Professional Services team within the Personnel department.

This team focuses on governance guidance and policy, project management, and initiative and improvements leadership to support a high performing workforce.

Responsibilities

• Provide team leadership for our internal recruiting team to ensure process excellence and provide an escalation path. Maintain and improve our recruiting management system to keep the team in sync, bring visibility to how we are progressing against goals, regularly seek feedback from stakeholders, and check and adjust the system.
• Proactively look forward and understand future talent needs for the organization along with talent sources by :
• Building strong relationships / communication paths with our HR Business Partner group, to ensure the recruiting team has broad awareness of future needs.
• Developing strategic partner plans and nurturing relationships with key talent partners (which may include colleges / universities, technical schools, or contract labor partners).

Educate these partners about the opportunities we have and are developing.

• With a focus on both internal talent placement and external recruiting :
• Lead, evolve, prioritize, make transparent and teach our talent acquisition strategies to recruit a high performing workforce.
• Communicate and provide direction to our internal marketing team to translate ideas into executable projects.
• Foster experiments and build and maintain platforms / models for talent acquisition.
• Identify and lead improvement efforts using effective project management skills and consider opportunities for automation.
• Manage our recruiting budget and assess the value of our investments by collaborating with stakeholders to establish and measure performance against goals.
• Demonstrate self-motivation, work independently, and effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment and maintain confidentiality.

We anticipate that once the individual that has filled this position has finished their onboarding, they will have capacity to take on additional responsibilities, perhaps 30% of their time.

Focus areas we are currently considering are in the areas of business analytics, compensation strategy, inclusion journey leadership, and marketing strategy.

We will choose the additional responsibility based on business need and skills and capabilities of the individual.

Who will I partner with in these responsibilities?

• Personnel recruiting team and HR Business Partners.
• Key talent partners at colleges / universities, technical schools, and contracted labor partners.
• Vendor partners.

Where will I work?

While most of the work can be done remotely, we have a strong preference for this individual to reside near our corporate headquarters in the Brookings, SD in order to be able to engage with key talent partners in the area.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required with a preferred focus in human resources, business, or marketing.
• Strong communication skills, interpersonal savvy, collaboration skills and planning and organizational skills will be necessary.
• Previous experience recruiting, managing organization change, account management, or developing sales / marketing campaigns would be helpful.
• Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
• Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Must be fluent in English, written and verbal.
• Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
