SQL Expert – Short-Term Project – ASAP Start

Location: Sydney, NSW

Duration: 4 – 6 weeks temp project, start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

As the SQL Expert, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  1. Documentation: Thoroughly document existing SQL jobs, cubes, and processes to gain an in-depth understanding of the current system.
  2. Performance Enhancement: Propose and implement solutions to improve SQL performance related to integration jobs and cube processing. Identify bottlenecks and optimize queries to enhance efficiency.
  3. Automation: Automate existing load processes by creating and scheduling SQL scripts and jobs to streamline data loading and processing.
  4. Issue and Request Management: Manage and respond to issues and requests related to the existing cubes and processes promptly, ensuring smooth operations.
  5. SSIS and SSAS: Create new SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) jobs to meet the requirements of new requests and improve data integration and analysis.
  6. User Support: Understand and clarify any issues raised by business users, ensuring their needs are met and their concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.

Key Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Proven expertise in SQL programming, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a university or educational setting is a plus.
