Tesla Hiring for Engineering Technician, Cell Prototyping at Fremont, CA, United States Full Time

We are looking for an Engineering Technician to assist development and prototyping of lithium ion cells. The candidate should be familiar with lithium ion cell chemistry and manufacturing processes.

The candidate will be a key member of a cross functional product development team.

• Electrode manufacturing including coating, pressing, slitting and winding
• Assembly of a variety of lithium ion cell prototypes including coin cell, pouch cell and cylindrical cell
• Document build data with the use of travelers and process documents
• Assist in the optimization of process parameters to improve performance, quality and yield
• Assist in process optimization and standardization via documentation generation / revision
• Cell testing and building of cell test fixtures
• Mechanical support and troubleshooting of cell manufacturing equipment
• Experience of working in a dry room and / or clean room environment
• Experience with air-sensitive material and hazardous chemicals
• Above average manual dexterity and visual acuity are required in order to perform delicate assembly tasks and high attention to detail
• Experience in a cell manufacturing line and roll to roll process is highly preferred
• Working knowledge of Windows and MS office
• Great communication skill and proactive, independent work ethic
