Founded in 2011 with a deep commitment to providing students with a quality and exceptional education, the Great Oaks (GO) Foundation envisions an America where every child has the support of a tutor to enable them to realize their full human potential.

Through their proven model of High-Dosage Tutoring, the GO Foundation recruits, trains, and supports a diverse group of tutors, known as GO Fellows, as part of a year of service through the federal AmeriCorps program.

GO Fellows provide frequent, individualized tutoring in English language arts and math during the school day that advances the model’s three central aims : instruct for mastery, mentor students to promote a learning mindset, and develop the school community.

GO Fellows are placed across a network of 12 schools throughout the Northeast that includes : Great Oaks Charter Schools (Bridgeport, NYC, Newark), as well as charter and district schools in Washington, DC, and Connecticut.

With renewed funding, the GO Foundation plans to expand their successful model to 1,000 trained AmeriCorps Fellows in an effort to reach 10,000 elementary, middle, and high school students each year.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Talent Acquisition Coordinator to play a pivotal role in recruiting and supporting exceptional individuals as Fellows within our program.

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will primarily focus on resume reviews, managing inquiry calls, facilitating offer processes, attending career fairs, and engaging with candidates to ensure a seamless and positive experience throughout the recruitment journey.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Engagement & Communication

• Conduct thorough and thoughtful reviews of incoming Fellow resumes to identify suitable candidates who align with our program’s goals and values.
• Manage and respond to approximately 50% of inquiry calls from potential candidates, providing information about the program, requirements, and the application process.
• Foster candidate engagement by maintaining regular communication, providing updates on application status, and addressing inquiries promptly.
• Assist the Program team with post-hire engagement as needed.
• Attend career fairs and recruitment events to represent the GO Foundation as needed, promote the Fellow program, and engage with prospective candidates.

Recruitment Process Management

• Facilitate the end-to-end offer process, ensuring that selected candidates receive and understand offer details and assisting with necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Strategist to ensure accurate recruitment data input in our ATS, complete data audits, and help improve data ing practices.
• Collaborate with the Talent & Recruitment team to ensure a diverse pool of candidates and promote inclusivity and equity throughout the recruitment process.
• Other recruitment-related duties.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a strong passion to connect talented and service minded individuals with the GO AmeriCorps Fellowship.

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will possess an internal drive to produce consistent and high-quality results. The successful candidate will also have :

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Previous experience in talent acquisition, recruitment coordination, or related roles.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective candidate engagement.
• Proficiency in resume screening and evaluation techniques.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• Proficiency in using Google Suite and Greenhouse ATS or other applicant tracking systems (ATS).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Passion for the mission and values of the GO Foundation, including a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equitable education.

Location

You must live within 35 miles of a school in which GO Fellows are currently serving (Bridgeport, CT; Hartford, CT; New York City;

Newark, NJ; or Washington, DC). You must be able to travel approximately 2-3 times monthly, plus a monthly in-person staff meeting in New York City (approximately 3-4 total in-person days each month).

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is $60,000 – $65,000, plus competitive benefits.

COVID-19 Vaccine

The GO Foundation requires all staff members to obtain and submit evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination. This decision was made to keep all staff and students safe as we return to in-person meetings and site visits.

New hires can start working with one dose of the vaccine as long as the second dose (where applicable) is scheduled within a month of the person’s start date.
