The Associate Director, Digital Marketing leads Optus’ in-housed digital media buying function, servicing the entire Optus organisation across Consumer, Sport, Business and Enterprise. You will lead a strong team of digital marketing specialists across paid search, affiliates, social media and programmatic. You will lead Optus’ strategic approach to digital marketing, future-proofing Optus against major shifts in the digital advertising ecosystem and ensuring we maximise use of first party data and ground-breaking technology including machine learning for digital audience creation and thoughtful targeting.

With digital media continually accounting for a growing proportion of Optus’ overall media spend, this role is responsible for investment and optimisation of our digital media budget, playing a critical role in the achievement of traffic and sales targets across all areas of Optus, as well as churn prevention, cross sell and upsell via paid digital activity!

What will you day to day look like?

• You will drive the future of our approach to digital marketing and digital media buying.
• Lead Optus’ approach to digital media buying and digital marketing strategy, and embed and evolve Optus’ in-house agency model.
• Lead strategic ads partnerships with key publishers/tech giants including Google and Facebook.
• Embed a test & learn culture within the team and personalisation across digital marketing activity.
• You will model your senior leadership ability to establish the in-housed digital marketing function, manage a wide variety of senior stakeholders, and drive a clear, world class, future-facing vision for Optus digital marketing.

What makes you perfect for the role?

• Extensive experience within Digital Marketing and/or Digital Experience in a leadership capacity. .
• Strong agency background, having hands-on experience running trading desks, paid search accounts etc.
• Strong experience in the use of data and audience targeting to drive continual optimisation.
• Expertise in the application of test & learn frameworks to digital marketing, both in media used and the intersection of creative and media approach.
• Deep strategy development and implementation experience, with the ability to orientate digital media buying strategy towards a variety of business goals.
• Strong experience in leading and managing digital marketing teams, with the ability to lead a clear vision and mentor team members in all areas.
