Position Overview
As the Events, Communication, and Membership Coordinator at GOC, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for the successful planning and execution of major events, managing social media activities, and driving our annual membership campaigns. ing directly to the National Manager, this role offers the flexibility of working from home, with occasional travel required to oversee and support events.

Key Responsibilities

Event Coordination
Venue and AV Management:

• Identify, negotiate, and secure venues and audiovisual (AV) resources for three major events per year.
• Oversee all logistical aspects related to event venues and AV requirements.

Travel Arrangements:

• Book travel arrangements for executive team members and invited guests attending events.
• Ensure seamless travel logistics, including transportation and accommodations.

Event Planning:

• Coordinate all aspects of event day execution, including booth setup, food and beverage arrangements, entertainment, and swag distribution.
• Create promotional materials for events.

Social Media Management:

• Develop and execute social media strategies to promote webinars, awareness campaigns, memberships, and events.
• Create engaging content and manage social media accounts to boost online presence.

Committee Support:

• Attend event planning meetings, take minutes, and distribute meeting notes to the committee.
• Reach out to and confirm guest speakers for events.
• Apply for event accreditation with the Royal College of Canada.

Membership Promotion
Membership Drive:

• Develop, implement, and promote yearly membership drive campaigns.
• Engage with current and potential members to enhance membership retention and growth.

Skills

• Proven experience in event planning and coordination.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in social media management and marketing.
• Familiarity with event accreditation processes (e.g., Royal College of Canada).
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for event support.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365
• Bilingual in French preferred
• Experience in LMS preferred
• Previous experience in a medical environment preferred
• Experience in SharePoint preferred
