Job Summary
Provide patient care in an acute care hospital or outpatient setting under the direction of the Imaging Technologist or Radiologist. Responsible for staging patients in preparation for the imaging required including starting IV�s if needed. Update all patient medications and health history at each visit. Perform patient related tasks as directed. Ensure all needed medical records are available to care teams. Coordinate with other team members to provide exceptional patient service. Assist with other clinical and clerical duties to ensure optimization of patient experience. The Imaging Assistant is required to be proficient in all applicable software systems relevant to the job.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A high school degree or equivalent.
Experience: One year experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required. Experience in performing phlebotomy preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant is preferred. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.

Knowledge/Skills: Customer Service is essential to success in this position. Requires knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, computer skills, communication techniques verbally and in writing, and various office procedures, systems, and equipment to include printer/copier/scanner, fax and multi-line phone system. Strong interpersonal communication, and organizational skills. Must be able to multi-task efficiently with focus on time management skills. Communicate effectively with people of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and have strong interpersonal skills. Work with Technologists and Radiologists to ensure effective and efficient delivery of patient care within the Imaging Department.
Other: Requires a mature individual who projects a professional and business-like appearance. Must maintain strict confidentiality of work related and patient sensitive information. Ability to work/float to other locations as necessary. Conducts tasks in a manner to fulfill effective departmental and organizational business. Ability to work with limited supervision and with a group.
