Prospero Teaching Hiring for Teaching Assistant at Manchester Full Time

Prospero Teaching is working in conjunction with a Good Primary School in Manchester that is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant with experience of delivering interventions in KS1 and KS2. The position is to support children within Key Stage 1 and 2, working with groups and individuals, at all ability levels, to assist in their academic development. You will be supporting children with Phonics, Reading, Writing and Maths. You will need to be experienced and confident in making and recording assessments. This teaching assistant position is to start after half term and is to cover the rest of the academic year.

You will need to be experienced in supporting children with additional needs, especially autism. You will need to have a good understanding of how to give clear, concise instructions, and how to tailor your approach depending on the children’s rate of progress.

It would be advantageous if you have experience of delivering interventions such as Numbers Count, and have planned and delivered Phonics and Guided Reading sessions using known programmes of study such as Jolly Phonics, Read, Write Inc., or Letters and Sounds. The school has high expectations for the children, and staff work hard to ensure that every child receives the provision they need to reach their potential. You will need to have a pro-active and independent attitude, and be able to pitch your input appropriately to the different ability levels. The school is looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who can help the children grow in confidence and make progress across the curriculum.
