USA Football is the governing body of American football in the United States, the sole US member of the International Federation of American Football, and a recognized sports organization of the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee. Its non-profit mission includes designing and delivering premier educational, development, and competitive programs for American football, including tackle and flag football. USA Football is the only organization that selects and organizes men’s and women’s US National Teams in federation-sanctioned international competition.

Job Function: The Senior Manager, Events & Engagement is responsible for planning and executing event engagement and experience plans for athletes, coaches, VIPs and guests at USA Football’s portfolio events including: grassroots initiatives, regional, national and international events, plus conferences and clinics. This position will have oversight on all event and program services pre, during and post event for each assigned event. In addition, this position will support and foster relationships with 32 NFL Clubs and other key stakeholders. In addition to core planning and execution duties, responsibilities include public speaking, event customer service and financial management.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and growth of the staff supervised
• Oversee events and programs service staff in the creation and execution of customer experience pre-event, on-site, and post event
• Oversee planning and communication for athletes, coaches and guests for the following events and programs:
• USA Football National Flag Team
• USA Football National Tackle Team
• Tournaments & Championships – Domestic & International (i.e. World Games, The One, etc.)
• National Team Olympic-Inspired Development Program (i.e. Scouting, Talent ID, etc.)
• Grassroots Programming (i.e. USA Football’s Blitz, First Down, Girls Development, etc.)
• Any other events as assigned
• Engage and manage relationships with NFL Clubs and other stakeholders including:
• Create project plan and rules of engagement
• Develop and implement growth strategies and process
• Develop tracking system for engagements
• Create monthly and end of year s
• Support and advise on the strategic planning efforts for annual events and engagements with key stakeholders
• Ensure USA Football events and programs afford opportunities for a diverse set of participants (I.e., girls, women, ethnic minorities, individuals with varying ability levels, etc.)
• Development and management of all program budgets to ensure profitability & efficiency as well as event-specific ROI
• Expand services and sustain resources by managing budgetary challenges efficiently and creatively
• Identify, summarize and clearly on trends, concerns and potential solutions that provide advisement to management internal departments looking to effectively serve and engage the football ecosystem
• Develop and implement post event ing and evaluation plans regarding the customer experience
• Develop and support offerings that further USA Footballs initiatives for female football pathway
• Collaborate with other departments including high performance, marketing, communications, digital, etc. to to ensure optimal event experience is achieved
• Oversee logistics for contactors and the Master Trainer program
• Provide on-site event execution support and management oversight of program service fulfillment
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required
• At least 7 years of sporting event customer experience, including three years in a management role
• Exceptional project management and operations management skills
• Organized and attentive to details
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Robust budget management and analytical skills
• Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and manage different types of personalities
• Knowledge and understanding of youth sports, the role of NGBs, and USA Football’s mission and function
• Ability to travel frequently for extended periods of time with heavy travel in Spring and Summer. Estimated travel is 25% of year.

Work Environment

This job primarily operates in a remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Physical Demands

Requires the ability to sit for more than four hours per day, reading, listening, stooping, bending and manual dexterity.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits.

Salary range for this position is $60,753 – $97,047, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.
