Position Summary

The Patient Access Representative (PAR) provides customer-service coverage in centralized registration areas such as front office, outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department locations of Asante and assumes the responsibility for successful financial outcomes of all patient services. In this role, the Patient Access Rep is also responsible for thoroughly and accurately describing the various compliance and regulatory documents that Asante is required to present to patients – while always maintaining patient relations, customer satisfaction, and Asante’s financial solvency.

Duties

Under the general supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, the Patient Access Rep performs imperative duties, including but not limited to

• Appointment scheduling
• Registration and insurance verification
• Telephone coverage and data entry
• Filing protected health information (PHI)
• Patient referrals and point-of-service collections

Qualifications

Education

• Associate’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field is preferred

Experience

• Previous patient registration experience – OR – related customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience, is required

Licensure/Certifications

• Certified Healthcare Access Associate through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management, preferred
