About The Opportunity
Our new Moorebank NDC (MoNDC) is currently under construction, and it’s set to be a game-changer. Located in Moorebank NSW, MoNDC is the newest addition to the Primary Connect Network, boasting an impressive 44,900 sqm facility that’s almost three times the size of the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). With this expansion, we’re taking Primary Connect’s national supply chain to the next level. The state-of-the-art facility will also incorporate advanced automation technology, allowing for faster and more efficient handling of the 12,000 product lines, and further strengthening Woolworths Group’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the logistics industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our new automation site at Moorebank! As our Automation Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of our cutting-edge technology, collaborating with our Automation Supplier commissioning team to ensure the seamless functioning of our Automated Material Handling System. The day to day will involve ensuring the material flow, identifying issues early on, and ing progress to the Woolworths site test team and operation teams. You’ll play a key part in supporting the execution of our Automation Test Strategy, making an impact by observing and recording the PLC and Low Level Control functionality, capturing photos and videos of subsystems and Material Handling system components, and providing daily and weekly progress s.
The candidate will work alongside the Automation supplier to ensure correct operation and consistency across multiple components of the Automated material handling system. They will ensure the performance of all components of the system is as per design specifications. Your contribution to the team will be vital as you provide feedback to the Automation Test Lead, Automation PM, and DC Design, and identify and coordinate any requirement for upcoming tests or activities, including people and material handling equipment. You’ll also validate physical stock movements and flow, ensuring that our automation systems are functioning at their optimal level.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain management, as well as experience working with automation systems. Ideally, you’ll have gained this experience through a Control Room Operator or Production Planner background. You’ll also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
