Payson City Hiring for Water Systems Operator Trainee at Payson, UT Full Time

DUTIES: Works under the general supervision of the Water Superintendent. Receives daily work direction from the Water Systems Leader Worker. A front-line technician who ensures the efficient and reliable delivery of clean and healthy drinking water to the City. This position is focused on obtaining the required certification and gaining on-the-job-training. Trainee is closely supervised.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent education required. Experience: One year experience in equipment operation, waterline or pipe construction or closely related area is preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six months of hire. Must possess a Utah Certified Level I Water Distribution Operator within one year of assignment (or next reasonable testing period as specified by the supervisor). Must obtain a Utah State Flagman’s Certification within three months of hire. Be able and willing to respond to emergency call-outs within the time periods specified in City or departmental policies which may limit residency options. Must be able and willing to participate in an on-call rotation that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

SALARY: $14.00 to $19.63 per hour depending on qualifications.

SCHEDULE: 40+ hours per week. M-TH. Required to participate in the on-call rotation. Evenings, weekends and holidays may be required.
