Duties

As a MATERIAL HANDLER (FORKLIFT OPERATOR), you will:

• Receive coinage materials for storage and or transfer.
• Operate forklift trucks with various lifting capacities, stand-up riders, etc., to lift, move, and stack tanks, tubs, or boxes of metal in various stages of processing.
• Load, unload, stack, unstack, re-warehouse and move boxes, coils, tubs, tanks, crates packages, pallets and loose items, using powered industrial truck equipment which can lift loads weighing up to 12,000 pounds.
• Responsible for the receipt and inspection of all supplies, equipment, and miscellaneous materials (UPS FedEx shipments, Overnight mail, etc) delivered.
• Responsible for the receipt, entry into the computerized inventory system (PeopleSoft ADCS), and routing of all incoming coinage material; and continually supplying all the assigned press aisles and bulk bag stations within the production area with the required material that is in turn processed by the assigned personnel.
• Check and expedite, as needed, at a minimum every 30 minutes during production times, all material staged at each point of the production process.

• Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis. Assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be able to work all shifts on a rotational basis.
• May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.
• Pass a pre-employment physical examination.

Regularly handles weights up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted. Material handling devices and assistance of other workers is available for handling especially heavy items. Heavy exertion is frequent. Constant kneeling, crouching, stooping, and walking are required.
Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting, and stopping the fork lift truck and raising, lowering, and tilting the loads being involved.
