Front Desk Receptionist/Patient Services Rep for Gynecology Practice Needed

Essential Functions:

Functions and Responsibilities are as follows:
· Welcomes patients and families to the practice, provides necessary registration form to the patient for completion and signature, reviews the form for accuracy, and updates patient information and visit status in EMR system. Scans documents as needed in EMR.
· Answers incoming telephone calls on a multi-line telephone system in a friendly, professional manner, as well as in an efficient and timely fashion. Schedules patient appointments. Directs patients to the appropriate staff members or records messages in accordance with approved telephone procedures.
· Appropriately schedules, reschedules, and cancels patient appointments.
· Verifies correct insurance information via card, or phone call to the insurance company as appropriate. Has knowledge of insurances and Provider PAR status. Scans copy of card in chart. Runs eligibility on every patient prior to checking them in.
· Collects and posts co-pay or payments for services at each visit. Advises patients of any outstanding balance and collection of this payment.
· Ensures patients check out as they leave the office and follow check-out procedures.
· Maintains various logs of daily activity, totaling payments received and balancing with daily s in EMR system. Reviews for accuracy.
· Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion when handling patient medical records and information.
· Performs various clerical duties as assigned.
· Performs other duties as assigned by providers, coordinators, and managers in accordance with established office policy.
· Regular attendance in the office is required for this position.
