Job Title: Packaging Engineer (Freelance) Department: Product

s to: Senior Product Manager Location: Remote, US based only

LifeStraw is seeking a talented freelance Packaging Engineer to work with the Product team on an hourly contracted basis to develop modern, sustainable, and efficient packaging solutions for new product development projects. The ideal candidate will be skilled in packaging engineering, sustainable packaging solutions, protective shipping and shelf ready designs, die line creation, material selection, and 3D CAD renderings. It is expected that this candidate will have access to their own licensed software to complete essential job descriptions. This person would be joining a dynamic product team with a passion for social impact and for creatively bringing safe water to people around the world.

This role is project based and will be remote with some requests for on-site visits to our HQ office in Baltimore, Maryland.

• Create / optimize packaging structure to maximize quality/cost based on regionally available materials and qualify through testing.
• Work with product team and suppliers to develop packaging requirements and material specifications.
• Maintain routine project updates while prioritizing and time managing multiple projects.
• Assist in creating packaging specifications and bill of materials.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with product packaging over the course of product and packaging development.
• Design, innovate, and execute sustainable packaging solutions working closely with supportive resources.
• Deliver CAD, 2D, and material recommendations to Product team for continued packaging development and production.
