• Contract Management.
  • Negotiates 3PL contracts. Collaborates with Kao Legal to ensure agreements meet Kao standards.
  • Monitors 3PL-contract expiry dates and renegotiates and or renews contracts.
  • Verifies the pricing competitiveness of 3PL-partners via comparisons and requests to rebid (RFPs).
• Managing Warehouse Operations and Cost
  • Manages the 3rd–party warehouse providers to maximize our Customer Service deliverables by maintaining a responsive and cost-effective warehousing and distribution organization.
  • Directs the 3rd-Party Management in meeting our changing business needs. Reviews 3PL invoices and ensures processing by AP. Manages Cost.
  • Defines and monitors performance KPIs implementing Kao Supply Chain’s strategy.
• Trouble shoots issues demanding a fast response.
• Manages two or more direct s in order to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above and below.
• Consults the Associate Director, Logistics and Supply Chain Leadership Team, provides guidance and consultation to the Senior Distribution Manager in strategic decisions such as network design, in- or outsourcing, 3PL provider selections.
• Customer Logistics & Planning
  • Ensures the effective and on time and in full shipment of goods to Customers. Supports the smooth processing of EDI shipping confirmations. Supports the interaction between Customer Service and the 3PL in case of special requests.
  • Develops and monitors the usage of standardized processes for interaction between Kao/MB/Oribe departments and the 3PLs. Ensures the effective and on time and in full receipt of incoming loads including EDI receipts.
• Definition of KPI Metrics and KPI Monitoring
  • Defines Key Performance Targets (KPTs) and monitors KPIs. Reviews KPIs with 3PLs and Kao Supply Chain leadership.
  • Implements initiatives to improve KPI performance and Q&I (Quality and Innovation) KPIs.
• Inventory Management and EDI.
  • Maintains synchronous inventory balances between 3PL and SAP inventory systems.
  • Monitors EDI messages (shipping confirmations, receipt confirmations and inventory snapshots) flowing between the 3PL and Kao.
  • Repairs warehouse related EDI messages in error status and processes them in a timely manner.
• Coordinates the inspection, rework and disposal of all rejected inventories. Provides complete information to US Planning and Finance Department to ensure all financial aspects are covered.
• Leads or supports in special projects. Drives continuous improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor’s Degree (or Master’s Degree) strongly preferred or comparable skills through 10 years of experience in leadership in warehousing or distribution management.
• Minimum 10 years in Consumer Products.
• Ability to provide guidance/direction, develop innovative solutions and establish positive working partnerships when working with others.
• The individual must have a strong understanding of all physical elements of the supply chain, including Transportation, Warehousing, Distribution and Contract Packaging.
• The individual must be skilled in negotiating contracts.
• The individual must have a strong understanding of Customer Service principles, concepts and practices.
• The individual must have strong Mainframe (SAP including EDI)and PC application skills as well.
• A high degree of integrity to handle sensitive situations and confidential information.
• Decisions will range from recommendations (advise, then do) to decisions based on corporate strategies (do and advise) to independent judgments (do). The individual will be exposed to higher levels of management.

A reasonable salary range for this position is $100,000 – $140,000
