Sample News Group of Central & Western New York is hiring a Regional Circulation Manager.
This position will be responsible for developing and implementing and executing strategies to grow new readers and new revenue using various sales channels for home delivered print and online subscriptions, retail sales as well as retention programs for existing subscribers.
Position works with newspapers within the region to develop plans to maximize circulation revenues and volumes. Position promotes customer satisfaction, and is responsible for ensuring that for customer service, personnel safety, complaint resolution, ing, compliance of all local, state, federal, and company regulations and policies are established and implemented consistently across the region in the service area.
Must possess strong leadership, communication and motivational skills and provide consistent guidance to the region. This position will evaluate opportunities within each region and help determine additional needs of new and existing customers. Identify regional best practices and assist in the implementation across the other regions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Subscription marketing (print and online) and retail sales.
· Drive sales and retention plans to achieve daily circulation growth.
· Develop and implement comprehensive sales programs in all circulation disciplines that support the defined sales strategies for our properties in Oswego, Batavia, Fulton, and Geneseo.
· Assist with the development of volume and revenue budgets, create corresponding programs to meet budget, and monitors the associated budgeted revenue and expenses.
· Help develop subscription sales and marketing plans and mentor the teams that implement sales tactics to meet budgeted volume goals.
· Support the corporate sales strategies and motivate the teams to execute the subscription sales acquisition and retention initiatives.
· The position is responsible for advising, motivating, and coaching personnel within the group to achieve maxim sales revenue and customer satisfaction.
· Managing billing, invoicing, receivables, and collection efforts.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
· Work independently in the absence of supervision
· Prepare daily/weekly status s for management.
· Performing other event related duties as assigned by management.
· Ability to travel between markets.
· Key success metrics are: Growing subscription/single copy revenue, achieving volume goals, increasing market penetration, and managing expenses.
· Responsible for growing volumes in targeted areas that are attractive to advertisers, developing new sales programs and increasing engagement of subscribers on multiple platforms.
· Effective communication of programs, results and accomplishments with the regional sales support staff, group managers and hub teams.
· Position will work closely with the Regional Vice-President and Publishers of multiple properties to develop, manage, direct, operations, circulation sales initiatives and objectives. The position will also work closely with the President to develop and implement strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of the Company’s goals.
EXPERIENCE/JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Solid working knowledge in newspaper operations, systems, sales, marketing, and finance.
· Must have strong computer skills including excel, PowerPoint and Word.
· Possess a valid Driver’s License
· Ability to work autonomously, with a high degree of self-motivation.
· Ability to demonstrate sound reasoning, judgment, and decision-making using good problem-solving techniques.
· Goal oriented individual with the ability to think long term and develop strategic plan to achieve group initiatives.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Problem solving skills and deductive reasoning abilities.
· Excellent organization skills and time management skills.
· Basic handyman skills and experience working with a variety of tools.
· Interest and knowledge of media and event industry.
· Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
· Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
