Main Purpose & Function:
ing to the Manager of Plumbing and Mechanical Inspections, this position processes plumbing,
gas, sprinkler, electrical and fire permits. Using Tempest,POSSE software, this position
is responsible for the daily financial reconciliation for Development Services.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
This position opens applications, reviews plans, collects fees, and processes invoices and is responsible for the
credit/debit card machine and the reconciliation of an accounts receivable ledger. This ledger includes all permits
for Development Services, refunds, NSF cheques, and civic receivables to be balanced against the POSSE and
auditing computer systems. This information is gained through a variety of file and computer searches using
POSSE, and License+ computer systems.
Minimum Position Requirements:
Education and Experience
Completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by commercial subjects, accounting and computer related courses.
Training and experience in reading building plans is an asset.
Considerable clerical experience, preferably working with a variety of sub-trades and issuing permits to the public.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Accounting skills.
Math skills and experience using Tempest, POSSE, License+, VanMap and Microsoft Office programs.
Accurate data entry skills.
Demonstrated communications skills in dealing tactfully, patiently and effectively with irate or stressedclients, including conflict resolution.
The City’s COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as a result, vaccination against COVID-19 is not required at this time. However, should circumstances change and the City deem it necessary to re-introduce such policy, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to be eligible to continue performing your duties.
