Mammoth Hospital Hiring for Clinical Scribe at Mammoth Lakes, CA Full Time

The purpose of the Clinical Scribe is to capture patient encounter documentation in the electronic medical record (EHR). The clinical scribe will accompany the physician and directly observe patient encounters. The clinical scribe will accurately document the events and decision-making in a manner that results in appropriate medical charting. Scribes also complete clerical activities necessary to assist with processing of physician orders for test and prescriptions.

What You’ll Do:

• Accompany physician into the patient examination room in order to accurately document in the electronic medical record (EHR) the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.
• List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
• Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
• Document any procedures performed by the physician.
• Provide research assistance as requested by provider.
• 4 days per week will be scribe work and 1 day per week will be on other assigned tasks, typically assisting with prior authorizations or scheduling outreach.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required, Associates degree preferred.
• One year experience as a medical scribe or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Medical terminology or coding experience strongly preferred.

Job Information:

• Full-time, 8 hour day shifts.
• Schedule will include occasional Saturdays, approximately one Saturday every 6 weeks.
• Starting wage $23.38 to $25.03 based on qualifications.
