Assist Dietary Manager

Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the food and nutrition services department.

Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.

Assist in developing diet plans for individual residents.

Interview residents or family members to obtain diet history as necessary.

*Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.

*Review the food and nutrition requirements of each resident as required.

*Assist RD/DM in planning nutrition for resident discharge plan.

*Comply with all infection control protocols.

*Perform necessary administrative duties as directed or as needed.

*Inspect food storage rooms and or areas along with kitchen with frequent follow up and education to staff and residents/families.

*Communicate with residents and families on any changes as needed and frequently.

*Ensure menus are maintained and filed in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

*Assist in ensuring implementation of safe operation of all food and nutrition services equipment.

*Visit residents periodically to evaluate the quality of meals served, likes and dislikes etc.

*Provide education to staff regarding food and nutrition services.

*Make daily rounds to assure compliance with food and nutrition services.

*Attend and participate in continuing education and inservice training.

*Assist in developing and monitoring adequate inventory for food and supplies for department.

*Will step in and help when needed as Dietary Aide or Cook.

*Other duties as necessary.
