Job Title: Clinical Informatics Manager
General Description:
The Clinical Informatics Manager serves as a leader/ while acting as the bridge between the Health IT department and the rest of the healthcare facility. This position requires healthcare operations, computer science, and information technology knowledge. It demands a good understanding of business and leadership. The Clinical Informatics Manager will serve as a leader and a subject matter expert during the implementation of Epic and post-go-live, ensuring that the Epic environment meets the needs of the Chickasaw Nation Departments of Health and Family Services staff and patients. The Clinical Informatics Manager will serve as a coordinator and is responsible for consulting with the service lines and their staff in optimizing the Epic environment and staff training. The Clinical Informatics Manager will be responsible for knowing the third-party applications that will be integrated with the Epic system and how the departments within the Departments of Health and Family Services use these applications. They will supervise the Clinical Informatics Coordinators (CICs) and will be responsible for a broad range of activities surrounding implementing a comprehensive, standardized, integrated healthcare information system.
Supervision Received: Direct supervision by the Health IT Officer, Indirect Supervision by the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO)

Education:
GED Required – GED and/or High School Diploma required Bachelors Required – Bachelor’s degree in Clinical, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computer Systems, Business Administration, or another related field Masters Preferred – Master’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Nursing, or related field preferred

Training And Experience:
Preferred Experience (3 -5 years) – Experience working in a hospital or outpatient clinical setting; a minimum of 2-5 years Required Experience (5+ years) – Minimum 5-7 years relevant managerial experience in application development, support, and maintenance, successfully leading teams to complete deadlines Required Experience (3 -5 years) – A minimum of 2 years of project management experience and a strong understanding of project management methodologies Required Experience (6 months – 3 years) – A minimum of 2 years of Epic end-user experience
Licenses, Certifications, Other:
Required – Must be able to pass a background check. Required – Must possess a valid driver’s license. Required – A minimum of 1 current Epic certification Required – Must complete a pre-employment drug screen with a negative result. Required – Must be available for emergency and after-hours issues. Required – Must remain current on certifications as needed for job function. Required – For healthcare professionals, current licensure Preferred – Nursing Informatics, Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), or Certified Professional in Digital Health Transformation Strategy (CPDHTS) Required – Must obtain additional Epic certifications, if directed by leadership, within the first 90 days of employment and/or within 90 days of starting Epic certification training. Required – Completion of the Sphinx assessment
Physical Requirements:
Preferred – Position may require long periods of sitting, standing, reaching, lifting, and bending to perform procedures.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in the hospital and clinic environment. The work may include a certain amount of exposure to hostile and emotionally disturbed patients, family members, and visitors. Travel to facilities other than the assigned worksite may be necessary.
