About the Role

One of our top client, a leading renewable investment company opening roles as financial modeler. The company has presence in Australia, the UK, and mainland Europe, this investment group has an impressive portfolio and valued at over $1 billion in Australia. They are actively involved in both the construction and operation of various renewable energy assets across Australia. Their diverse projects include solar, wind, and other innovative initiatives. Currently, they are making significant investments in one of the largest Australian solar farms in NSW, while also undertaking projects related to wind, BESS, and solar energy across the country.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed financial models for renewable energy projects, incorporating various factors such as project costs, cash flows, revenue projections, and financing structures.
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate project viability, profitability, and risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and assumptions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial models.
• Provide support in assessing and structuring project financing options, including debt and equity structures, tax incentives, and government grants.
• Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to identify potential project risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
• Prepare insightful s and presentations summarizing financial analysis results and making recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and financial best practices related to renewable energy projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Proven experience in financial modelling, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy project finance and associated financial concepts.
• Proficiency in financial modelling software (e.g., Excel, VBA) and familiarity with other relevant tools.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex financial models and datasets.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
