Video Editor (Remote) Full Time

This freelance opportunity is ideal for a creative video editor with a passion for crafting visually compelling content for social media. The role involves editing Instagram and TikTok reels for a Brussels-based hairstyling salon renowned for its expertise in braids and afro hair. The editor will work with extensive pre-shot footage, transforming it into polished, professional short-form videos that reflect a refined visual identity. The focus is on clean edits, controlled pacing, and artistic presentation, steering clear of over-edited trends. Subtitles and tasteful music may be incorporated to enhance the storytelling and brand image. All creative direction and footage will be provided, and edits will be reviewed and approved prior to posting.

Deliverables

• Edit Instagram and TikTok reels using provided footage, ensuring each video aligns with the salon’s aesthetic and brand guidelines
• Apply simple, clear subtitles where appropriate to improve accessibility and engagement
• Select and integrate tasteful background music that complements the salon’s visual identity
• Maintain a controlled, intentional editing style that highlights details and avoids excessive effects or over-editing
• Collaborate closely with the salon owner to interpret creative direction and incorporate feedback into final edits
• Prepare final video files optimized for social media platforms, ensuring high quality and correct aspect ratios

Requirements

• Proven experience editing short-form video content for Instagram, TikTok, or similar platforms
• Strong portfolio demonstrating clean, visually engaging edits with a focus on aesthetics and detail
• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
• Ability to create and integrate simple subtitles and select appropriate music
• Excellent sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual composition
• Strong communication skills and responsiveness to feedback
• Ability to work remotely and deliver projects on agreed timelines
• Familiarity with trends in beauty, hairstyling, or fashion content is a plus
• Based in Brussels or able to work with clients in the Brussels time zone preferred
