Summary:
Responsible for assisting important aspects of domestic, international inbound / outbound shipping transactions to include day to day transportation planning, load tender, document ex, freight auditing & cost approvals, customer support and follow up of all shipping transactions. This position s to the Director of Logistics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performing International Ocean Shipping Basic Procedures and Principles for Day-to-Day Operations
· Cooperating with TMS Provider and Internal Customer Service Teams
· Mindset that is outgoing and forward-thinking, with the capacity to decode difficulties quickly.
· Responsible for achieving daily and weekly minimum expectations and KPIs with goals that vary based on directives from management.
· Ensure that documentation is processed, distributed, and discharged in a timely way to customs brokers, carriers, forwarders, customers, and agents.
· Track & trace customer shipments
· Prepare all major data entry and confirmation of key milestones (departure, arrival, customs clearance, PODs, and so on) as per Customer Standard Operating Procedures.
· Maintain professional, timely, and efficient customer and vendor communication.
· Ensure that shipments are picked up and transferred with the proper partners.
· Learn about Incoterms principles and the standards for commercial invoices.
· Maintain techniques and procedures for transporting commodities from local or offshore locations to warehouses, other storage offices, or final consignee locations for nominated shippers.

· Monitor Domestic Carrier Allocation and Cargo Stock Levels Weekly Basis.
· Assist customs related assignments.
· Help with financial procedures and operating metrics (detention management, research/resolving invoice discrepancies, benchmark rate achievement, automation objectives, expedite decisions and cost, etc.)
· Review and approval of all freight invoices and related payment questions and issues regarding in-process invoices, rates, aged bills, etc.
· Audits 3PL freight invoicing to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
· Identify trends related to carrier on-time performance, detention, reschedules etc. to highlight potential process improvement measures.
· Manage successful relationships with local suppliers and other co-load carriers (for example ocean carriers, TMS vendor, customs brokers, local pickup and delivery firms, regional trucking companies, and line-haul providers).
· Responds to emails and rate requests in a timely manner, assisting local sales efforts.
· To ensure that built deadlines are reached, manages activities along the order fulfillment and shipment cycle.
· Auditing and Approving/Recording additional accessorial costs.
· Engage in customer and carrier communication to sustain customer and carrier growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 2-3 Years Freight Operations Experience in Freight Forwarding, Ocean Carrier or Importer.
· 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a 3PL environment
· 1-2 Years of TMS Experience
· Understanding of Office Application functions, as well as practice with them.
· High attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to multi-task
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
· Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of ERP systems.
