Full Job Description

This position will be a full-time, 10-month, staff position with assigned school districts involved in the federally funded TRiO program. Position is grant-funded.
The TRiO/Educational Talent Search program targets low income, first generation college students. This position will assess participant’s academic needs at entry into the ETS program as well as data management and documentation for provided services. Responsibilities also include providing information and training for success in post-secondary education. Transporting of materials and significant travel is required with this position.
Additional responsibilities:
  • Identify and advise ETS participants on educational need.
  • Administer needs assessments.
  • Provide professional guidance and and technical assistance in the areas of college admissions including but not limited to, college planning, assistance with forms and procedures for admissions into post-secondary programs and financial aid, and career readiness.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of participants and utilize database.
  • Assist the director in providing workshops to program participants.
  • Assist the director as liaison and consultant to community agencies, the school system and other referral sources.
  • Disseminate program information.
  • Build and maintain rapport with counselors and principals in target schools.
Bachelor’s degree in social services, education, or related field from an accredited institution as well as a related work experience required. Valid driver’s license is required.
Salary range is $15.15 – $17.15 per hour. Excellent fringe benefit package including, but not limited to health, dental, vision, and life insurance; sick and vacation leave; and the Missouri Public School & Education Employee Retirement System.
