We are seeking a Research Assistant who will conduct the RNA testing on specimens from clinical cases referred into the Rare Disease research program.

Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) was Australia’s first dedicated paediatric research facility and is now one of the world’s most highly regarded independent medical research organisations. Our research focuses on the four key areas impacting children’s health: cancer, genomics and genetic diseases, neurobiology, and embryology.
Our Mission
CMRI is an independent Medical Research Institute that nucleates world-leading expertise in genomic medicine, cancer, neurobiology, embryology, proteogenomics and gene therapy. Professor Sandra Cooper is leading the ‘RNA for Rare Disease project’ (RNA4RD), which is a 3-year, national research program involving 25 investigators across Australia. Our vision is to develop pathways to embed RNA Diagnostic testing, the new frontier in genomic diagnostics, into clinical practice. Our goal is to improve diagnosis and treatment for the tens-of-thousands of Australians living with rare genetic diseases or inherited cancer predisposition.

The RNA4RD Research Assistant is a critical member of our team and essential to the success of the RNA4RD research program. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, technically skilled, and highly organised Research Assistant who will conduct the RNA testing on specimens from clinical cases referred into the RNA4RD research program from across Australasia.
