This position manages staff and the daily activities of purchasing of goods and the payment of services. The incumbent reviews and determines appropriate bids and quotes, approves purchase orders, processes consultant forms, and provides guidance to departmental buyers across campus.
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
AND
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties.
Certification:
Must hold the designation of Certified Mississippi Purchase Agent (CMPA) or obtain certification within 12 months of hire (not applicable for Accounts Payable position).
Substitution Statement:
Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
