Job Summary:

The HSE Engineer establishes and supports the strategies and programs to enhance the impact of the HEALTTH and EARTTH policies, including training of associates, monitoring and enhancing the performance of the HSE management system, providing technical guidance to management and employees regarding safety and health regulations. Works within the function of quality as it relates to machine processes and safe work processes while meeting customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand, abide by and promote the FNST safety policies and practices at all times.
• Understand and support the FNST Growtth and Lean Process for continual improvement including leadership and facilitation of activities.
• Understand and support the FNST Quality Policy and associated guidelines, processes and requirements as necessary to ensure continual company value, customer satisfaction and market status.
• Understand and support the FNST Environmental Policy and assure compliance.
• Develops Safety Program and participates in all aspects of facility safety.
• Conducts, reviews, and documents results of Accident Investigations.
• Leads HSE committee.
• Promotes compliance with current regulations.
• Files local, state, and federal agency s, and compiles data as a permanent file for reference.
• Complies with OSHA and related training requirements and participates in training of associates.
• Compiles and distributes Safety Data Sheets for the plant and to health and regulatory agencies.
• Writes and implements effective employee health programs as required by EPA and OSHA.
• Ensures continuing compliance and certification to ISO14001 and assist implementing ISO 45001 practices.
• Continuously monitors and updates safety programs to reflect changes in regulations.
• Performs necessary functions to adhere to ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 standards.
• Maintains and communicates upgrades of H.S.E. Policies and Procedures to entire plant.
• Monitors air and noise quality of facility.
• Implements OSHA Corrective Action(s) and appropriate correspondence and provides OSHA Compliance interpretations as appropriate.
• Coordinates hazardous waste activities.
• Administrates Environmental – Air Permitting and Environmental – Wastewater permitting Programs.

Qualifications:

Works primarily in a fast-paced environment with quiet to moderate noise levels.

Regularly works throughout the production areas.

Most projects require working independently.

Computer literacy at intermediate level required.

Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the function.

Excellent communications skills (oral and written) and presentation skills.

Ability to maintain effective working relationship with employees, managers, and outside business associates and contacts.

Requirements:

Two-year degree in related field

Prefer 2 years’ experience in safety and environmental areas, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Professional certifications beneficial
