The Scope of Work
We are looking for a Free-Trade Zone (FTZ) Director to assist in establishing, setting and maintaining a manufacturing, FTZ operation. The FTZ Director will manage legal compliance and provide import administration and control within government rules and regulations regarding all foreign trade zone operations. Interface with internal and external customers, freight forwarders, customs officers, and other functional areas to ensure proper customs admission and entry for goods into and out of a free trade zone.
Major Responsibilities
1. Lead the FTZ project implementation by coordinating communications with local and overseas internal teams, proving guidance on best practices, and analysis, and recommending the most cost-efficient operations.
2. Work closely with internal and external legal teams and consultants to complete all FTZ activation.
3. Manage the preparation of monthly/annual inventory reconciliation, and FTZ s.
4. Develop and maintain FTZ operating manual specific to zone operations.
5. FTZ site implementations, ability to manage FTZ audits, and drive CIP initiatives to meet internal customer warehousing requirements.
6. Support and manage Customs & Border Protection requirements related to Foreign Trade Zone regulations.
7. Review and determine relevant import applicable requirements for products, such as tariff classification, FTA and GSP eligibility, valuation, country of origin, AD/CVD, and denied party screening.
8. Manage appropriate customs declarations related to ISF, in-bonds CF7512, permits to transfer, CF 214 admissions, and CF 7501, etc.
9. Determine Partner Government Agency (PGA) applicability for products, and assess items for clearance, permit, license, and/or documentation requirements.
10. Manage commercial documentation against shipment receipts to determine shortages or overages.
11. Maintain an awareness of loss prevention, security, and safety by following all policies and procedures.

Qualifications
1. 5-10 years experience in Logistics and Supply Chain. 5 years of supervisor/ management.
2. 3-5 years of import/ export and/or trade compliance experience.
3. New system and/or operation implementation experience.
4. Expertise with product classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, including sets and kits. Ability to interpret and apply GRI(s) correctly.
5. Ability to effectively communicate with and work closely with Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, Wa-rehouse Operations, and US Customs
6. Experience determining and managing Partner Government Agency (PGA) and AD/CVD requirements
7. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Licensed Customs Broker is strongly preferred but not required.

2. Excellent oral & written communication. Ability to effectively communicate trade-related information to internal and external partners.
3. Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), especially advanced Excel data analysis skills.
4. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
5. Ability to make decisions and execute with limited oversight.
6. Ability to work in a team environment and adjust day to day as needed to support changing priorities.
7. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
Phoenix, AZ, on-site position. Travel is required as needed. Company trade shows and event travel. Occasional travel to the US HQ office and/or overseas HQ sites and manufacturing facilities.
