Omega Moulding Hiring for Purchasing Specialist at Bellport, NY Full Time

The Purchasing Specialist will work collaboratively with the VP of Purchasing, Sales Team and Operations Manager to manage overall performance, profitability, and inventory/cost controls. This position is responsible for analyzing our inventory needs based on historical averages and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The role will require a highly analytical inventory and purchasing skill set as well as a proven record of delivering lean inventory and efficient, accurate purchasing.

A successful candidate must have a proven record successfully maintaining inventory levels to meet demand while mitigating overstocks and obsolescence.

Responsibilities:

• Improve Material Planning – Analyze material usage to strike a balance between carrying costs and quantity purchasing discounts.
• Work with Inventory Control – Maintain accurate inventory counts, minimize material outages to avoid work interruptions, and maintain/reduce inventory levels and carrying costs.
• Manage Purchasing Function – Understand and optimize the company’s purchasing function, and establish targets for cost-savings and improved buying opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Accurate and detail orientated
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Proven problem-solving skills
• Professional communication skills
• Experience in purchasing and inventory analysis
• Experience with overseas shipping, customs, and inland freight
• Experience working with an importer/exporter
• Business and/or accounting background a plus
• 4+ years working in supply chain management, logistics, purchasing and/or inventory control in a manufacturing environment preferred
