Staples Hiring for New Account Representative (Remote) at Remote Full Time

The New Accounts Representative goal is to contact new Bill To customers to welcome them, confirm accuracy of account set up and billing info, and verify the accounts payable contact info in our systems so the account can be smoothly transferred to the appropriate collections team.

Representative will use excellent written and verbal skills, with a focus on a positive customer experience, to effectively communicate with external Staples customers regarding their account. This Associate will often be the first contact a customer has with Staples outside of their Sales Associate.

What you bring to the table:

• Contact new customers to confirm or correct account set up and billing information so the account can be moved to a collections team.
• Relationship building with Staples customers by independently communication with accounts payable teams and internal/external supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders.
• Multi-task to effectively manage inbound and outbound phone calls and emails, and special project objectives as assigned
• Actively prioritize and contact new customers through efficient use of collections tools
• Promptly resolve billing, service and Accounts Receivable (AR) issues
• Promote strong collaborative relationships between the Collections teams and all other internal teams, especially Sales, Accounts Receivable and Customer Service
• Recognize and proactively communicate potential billing and collections issues
• Process Proof of Delivery, credit memos and other documentation when necessary to resolve account differences with customers
• Identify possible risk exposure and action to take on future orders, billing, and invoicing
• Escalate large collections issues appropriately and notify management of potential write-off concerns
• Plan and organize work so the Service Level Agreement (SLA) objectives are met
• Actively document customer issues including promises to pay and payment issues
• Actively monitor and document customers whose aging becomes severe
• Actively work to understand customer ordering platforms and how billing is integrated into that platform

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service/quality assurance acumen
• Problem-solving mindset

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related work experience
• Experience with electronic processing of invoices and collections experience with large volume accounts
• Understanding of accounting processes, including credit, collections and processes and best practices.
