Responsibilities of the Talent Acquisition Specialist at Responsive Group Inc

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will partner directly with hiring managers supporting the hiring needs at the Home/Community level.

ing to the Vice President, Operations and Vice President, Health Human Resources, this role will determine the right selection criteria and process for high-volume hiring needs across multiple departments and functions. Using a consultative approach, the Specialist will work with our Home/Community leadership to understand their business and hiring needs, while guiding them through the end-to-end recruitment process.

Our ideal candidate is a dedicated talent acquisition specialist who is resourceful and persistent in seeking out the best talent using forward-thinking and proven candidate sourcing strategies. The candidate enjoys working in a fast paced environment, is responsive to change and is passionate about recruiting for talent in our sector.

This position is remote/home based, but the selected candidate should have the ability to travel to our Homes/Communities in the specified locations as required and available for meetings at the office/homes/communities.

Responsibilities

Recruitment Life Cycle

• Managing the end-to-end recruitment life cycle from drafting job postings, candidate search, screening, selection, references, offer through to closing and placement
• Lead job requisition gathering sessions with Home/Community leadership team to determine the appropriate knowledge, skills and capabilities requirements prior to post
• Identify external emerging talent pools and partner with the Health Human Resources (HHR) team members and Homes/Communities to utilize succession planning and internal emerging leader pipelines to fill roles
• Assess candidate skills and experience using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
• Maintain targeted interview guides that identify candidates with top skills, knowledge and abilities that best meet role requirements
• Plan interview and selection procedures, including targeted search strategy
• Ensure recruitment activity is updated regularly in the ATS, ing on hiring metrics, trends, successes and challenges
• Liaise effectively with Employee Engagement Specialist(s) to ensure an integrated service to hiring managers and candidates
• Understand hiring forecasts based on analysis of recruitment and attrition data
• Define and execute innovative search tactics using industry best practices to attract qualified candidates, both internally and externally
• Independently source and gather supply and demand insights to attract candidates
• Develop strong partnerships and relationships with hiring managers across the business unit and within the Homes/Communities

Campus Recruitment

• Represent and promote the Home/Community’s brand and value proposition at external recruitment events, such as job fairs, etc., in a positive and professional manner
• Build campus relationships with key stakeholders
• In partnership with Home/Communities, track student placements and conversion

Channels, Platforms & Tools

• Ensure all users are trained and understand how to use and optimize the ATS
• Audit processes, data and user experience(s) and recommend improvements
• Keep abreast of innovative recruitment technologies and platforms
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• University /College degree in Human Resources Management or other related discipline
• 3+ years high volume recruitment experience in a multi-union and fast-paced organization is essential
• Holds or is working towards the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), CHRP, or equivalent designation from the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA)
• Knowledge of employment law related to recruitment
• Experience in long term care and retirement is an asset
• Ability to coach, guide and counsel hiring managers and team members across all levels of the organization
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Experience in leveraging new technology and emerging processes such as applicant tracking tools and systems, social media and HRIS platforms
• Experience with behavioural and cognitive assessments such as Predictive Index
• Experience reviewing resumes and exercising judgment in identifying valuable and relevant candidates; coordinating and participating in interviews, including coaching managers and developing structured behavioral interviewing tools
• Demonstrate good judgment, discretion and sensitivity to confidentiality
• Excellent time management, sense of urgency and attention to detail are critical
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, and resourcefulness with a high degree of initiative
• Some experience with the process of obtaining foreign worker status and immigration processes
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and matrix-led environment
• Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory references.
