Job Title: Senior Buyer

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Manages Buyers and Tool Crib Personnel.*
• Obtains quotes on new raw materials and processes.*
• Prepares, places, and expedites purchase orders to suppliers.*
• Initiates, prepares, and/or follows up on any material discrepancies or corrective actions.*
• Updates suppliers with any raw material print changes.*
• Updates inventory maintenance in computer system.*
• Develops cost reduction plans and supplier programs for inventory reduction.*
• Assists in the organization and execution of physical inventory and cycle counting.*
• Defines and audits inventory transactions and accuracy.*
• Audits and improves inventory process effectiveness through cycle counting and corrective action.*
• Supports manufacturing management and engineering in material flow processes and throughout time reduction.*
• Acts as Quality System Document Administrator by managing the document review and approval process including processing document change requests and updates and ensures that documents are complete, accurate, and in compliance with company procedures.*
• May be required to travel to suppliers; both domestic and foreign.

Language Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of general computer skills.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position is full time Monday through Friday. 401K enrollment is available on 30th day of employment. Benefits are available on 90th day of employment. NYS Paid Sick Time available on day of hire. EOE

Pay: $41,600.00 – $52,000.00 per year
