HTML Editor for Online Medical Textbook

PathologyOutlines.com, Inc., which began in August 2001, seeks an HTML Editor to work 5 days a week, 20-30 hours total, no nights or weekends. Meticulous attention to detail is mandatory; prior training or experience demonstrating that you have this capability is important. A science or biology background is also helpful. Basic HTML experience is preferred.

We publish a free online pathology textbook, written by university professors and peer-reviewed by outside editors.
You will not create content but will format text that others have written using HTML and applying our style guide and formatting standards. You will add the formatted topic to our website using our CMS (content management system).

Other responsibilities include:

• Posting job, fellowship and conference ads using a standard template, with proofreading to ensure compliance with our formatting standards
• Updating various websites pages as needed
• Additional responsibilities based on your ability

You must be organized and be able to work independently.

This is a great job if flexibility is needed. The hourly rate is $17.00. Benefits include health care premium reimbursement; after 3 months, a quarterly profit-sharing plan; after 1 year, a company funded 401(k) and pension-like plan; generous paid time off (2 weeks after 6 months and 4 weeks after 2 years). We also offer flexible hours and monthly office lunches.

You will be working with Apple computers using HTML/CSS, Google Apps (Mail, Docs, Calendar), basic image editing, Internet browsers (Safari, Mozilla, Firefox and Chrome), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

We have 24 employees, almost all part-time. Our office is on Telegraph Road between 12 and 13 Mile Roads, although most employees work remotely. This position can be remote but most of your hours should be between 8am and 5pm Eastern time.
