Job description

This position is a combination of material purchasing for service operations and product sales for our upcoming venture; storm window DIY kits.

The Purchaser is responsible for procuring all of the materials required for each project and product line and ensures they are provided on time and within allocated budgets. The Purchaser procures materials to specs and quantities provided by estimators, and other materials requested by management (except for office supplies). The Purchaser plays a vital role, as they ensure the profitability of business contracts, by purchasing the most cost-effective and appropriate materials for each job. Must be tech-savvy in order to buy various goods for our company. The purchaser’s duties will include conducting market research, building a network of reliable vendors and service providers, negotiating the best contracts, and inspecting deliveries. You should have stellar communication skills, be able to juggle multiple responsibilities at once and make important decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Job Roles & Duties

Purchasing Materials, Inventory & Services

• Know and understand woodworking and construction materials.
• Identify potential suppliers and new materials and sources of materials.
• Contact a range of suppliers and sub‐contractors to obtain quotations.
• Review inventory on hand to avoid shortages and excesses.
• Purchase/order materials
• Purchase requisitions
• Schedule the purchase of materials to meet due dates and budget
• Keep an inventory spreadsheet of up-to-date vendor prices including our markups and dates of arrivals
• Checking in and Inspecting purchased products upon delivery. Inspect quantity, quality, accuracy
• Update jobs with current ETA’s specifically to that job.
• Identify damaged or defective goods and work out an alternative solution with the supplier
• Purchase services (e.g. waste management, equipment service, etc
• Scanning, filing all PO’s, order acknowledgments, and delivery tickets to the correct customers and label accordingly
• Daly communication with vendors for raw materials and our fabrication shop in order to ensure timely deliveries of finished product

Storm window product sales:

• Answering general questions and project proposal questions from customers over the phone or email
• Respond to SLIP(storm window) product inquiries
• Pursuing new leads for building material sales
• Help customers fill out appropriate quote forms for the product
• Sending out correct purchasing/info forms and advertising materials
• Confirming and pricing quotes based on program calculations
• Help suggest and create/update sales/purchasing process forms
• Taking orders through the CRM
• Test quote calculator and salesforce connection routinely to ensure accuracy
• Follow-up customer conversations with supporting information via email/phone
• Suggest new sales/marketing material

Qualifications:

• CRM Experience. We use Salesforce
• Excellent math, organization, and time management skills
• Customer service experience with superior phone skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, performance based environment
• leading a staff to perform all the steps necessary for processing order in a timely, effective manner.
