TITLE: Transportation Secretary

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED SUBMISSIONS:
JOB GOAL: To assist and manage clerical tasks for the Director of Transportation including assistance to employees, transportation staff, and the public.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Communication
Routes and Schedules
1. Assist or handle assignments of bus drivers, bus routes, vehicles, and substitutes for morning and afternoon shifts.
2. Assist with or coordinator extracurricular transportation.
3. Maintain map files.
4. Prepare data required to plan bus route and post route schedule.
Data Entry
1. Performs general office routines such as typing, filing, placing and receiving telephone calls, greeting guests, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and ordering and maintaining supplies as needed.
2. Compiles monthly gas and mileage s for buses.
3. Keeps time sheets and absence s for transportation employees.
4. Assists with certain bookkeeping activities as requested.
5. Arranges meetings and workshops for the department.
Other
1. Orders office supplies for the department.
2. Welcomes all visitors and handles their request or refers them to appropriate personnel.
3. Comply with all district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
4. Other duties as requested.
ABILITY, WORKING ENVIRONMENT, AND EXPERIENCE:
ABILITY: Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to use CB Radio and Emergency Radio.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands; some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
EXPERIENCE: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240-day contract. SC30 Salary scale. Salary and work year to be established by the district.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
