Virginia Distillery Company Hiring for Logistics Coordinator Full Time

The Virginia Distillery Co., an American Single Malt Whisky distillery located in the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator. This position s directly to the Supply Chain Solutions Manager and will strive to achieve our relentless pursuit of operations excellence.

Our distilling operations started in November of 2015, and 2020 marked the first year we launched our own signature whisky brand, Courage & Conviction. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze material inventory s and place purchase orders to support production schedules
• Build and maintain shipping schedules for all inbound/outbound shipments, including domestic and international
• Coordinate labor requirements for all inbound/outbound shipments with the Production team
• Maintain adequate inventories of finished goods at the distillery and all outside warehouses based on management direction
• Create all documentation required to ship materials & products via LTL, FTL, air freight, and ocean freight. (Commercial invoices, bill of ladings, shipping labels, etc.)
• Verify and enter shipment information into inventory management systems in a timely manner.
• Maintain a good working relationship with all vendors and carriers
• Utilize industry best practices and continuous improvement methodologies to improve performance, reduce cost, and maintain a safe workplace.
• Regular and predictable attendance at the work site, this role requires regular presence at the distillery production facilities
• This role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally

Qualifications

• Prior experience in supply chain, transportation, or production/manufacturing operations
• Self-motivated and operating with a great sense of urgency
• Superior planning, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of manufacturing management systems, forecasting, finance, capital planning, and economic justification analysis
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative team-based environment
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy, precision, and timeliness
• Ability to prioritize and perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills including advanced Excel
• Open-minded, positive thinker with an ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Desired Experience

• 4 or more years of related experience, preferably in Supply Chain operations, logistics, or manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management
• Desire to build a manufacturing career at the heart of business operations
• Experience with Lean methodologies and culture
• Experience with international and hazmat shipping

Compensation & Benefits

This is a salaried, FSLA exempt, full-time, onsite position and is eligible for the following compensation, benefits, and bonus programs:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
